Caesar Creek State Park

With 43 miles of hiking trails and 31 miles of bridle trails, this park is ideal for hikers, equestrians, and cyclists. But its pioneer village—which includes more than 15 log cabins, a schoolhouse, a broom shed, and a blacksmith shop—and nature center, make it a must-see for the whole family.

Cowan Lake State Park 

1750 Osborn Road

Wilmington, Ohio 45177

This 1,775-acre park is open year-round and a favorite of birdwatchers, who can observe American wigeons, eastern bluebirds, mallards, mergansers and many other bird species. The lake is surrounded by a forest of birch and maple trees, and lotuses thrive in its shallow waters. 

Horsefeathers Farm 

7200 State Route 350

Clarksville, Ohio 45113

Established in 1978, this farm aims to promote an appreciation for Australia’s unique wildlife as well as the role endangered animals play in our world. Visitors can hunt fossils, pet a wallaby, hike the nature trails, catch a fish, or host a party or wedding at the picturesque gazebo.

Schappacher Farms 

3068 W. State Route 73

Wilmington, Ohio 45177

This family-owned farm is situated on 50 acres just off state route 73, making it easy to access from I-71. Visitors can pick their own pumpkin, enjoy a free hayride, make their way through a corn maze, sunflower field and more.
